Education

Children’s
Ministry at St. Paul’s focuses on the whole
child, committing to nurture children
spiritually, emotionally, socially, and
cognitively as they grow in their faith. Our
aim is to ground children in a relationship
with God that is visible by living out their
faith and an understanding of God as love.
We are building toward a faith that is lived
out in their daily lives through caring for
others, and all of God’s creation. We
believe that building on a strong sense of
community among the children and nurturing
adults is significant in the fundamental
basics of nurturing faith and spiritual
development in children.
To
raise a child today is tough. Raising kids today
to stand upon biblical teaching’s as a foundation
for future choices can be challenging, to say the
least. There is no denying that all of our
children need to learn skills-from reading to
swimming, to using the computer for their
twenty-first century lives and everything
in-between. But if we only offer them skills and
neglect the spiritual, we are merely attending to
the details of living and neglecting the very
center of life.
Christian Formation and Education 9:30 -
10:20
Church School
begins formation for children from three years of
age through the high school years on Sunday
mornings. These classes are located on the third
floor.
Beginning at
9:30 a.m. until 10:20a.m, children join together
to build a community in which they hear the
stories of our faith tradition, pray for one
another and others, and to apply our faith in God
and the teachings of Jesus to our daily lives as
we attend school, play sports and engage in
relationships with others. Learning to be good
stewards of our earth (acting as a trusteeship of
caring for God’s creation) and caring for those
who are tired, sick, lonely, hungry and homeless
are an important part of our faith development.
