A Message from Father
R. Stan Runnels, Rector
To Worship, To Serve, To Learn

Greetings from the
Westport/Midtown area of Kansas
City, Missouri and welcome to St. Paul’s
Episcopal Parish! This is your portal to our
world and we hope you find it interesting,
informative, and helpful.
St. Paul’s
Parish invites you to join us in a journey of
faith and wonder as we seek to discover God’s
vocation for us as a part of the Body of Christ
right here and right now. It is here in Westport
we seek to live our mission, “To Worship, To
Serve, To Learn”. Our doors are open and all are
welcome to join us.
St. Paul’s
Parish is one of the oldest worshipping
communities in Westport. Episcopalians have been
worshipping in this area since at least 1855.
The Parish of St. Paul organized as “Grace
Mission” on January 4, 1891. Our current
sanctuary opened for worship on April 1, 1906.
Throughout more than 100 years of worship,
mission, and ministry, St. Paul’s Parish and the
Episcopal Diocese of West Missouri remain
committed to a strong presence in this area. Our
goal remains to be a beacon on the hill of the
light of Christ in our world.
St. Paul’s
Parish draws its membership from all over the
Kansas City area. It is not unusual for our
members to drive many miles to be a part of this
dynamic community of faith. Nor is it unusual
for our members to take a short walk from home to
church activities. You will find every sort of
person here. We celebrate our diversity at St.
Paul’s, truly believing every one of us to be a
unique child of God.
There is much for
you to discover on this Website. There is much
more for you to discover among the community of
people that form the Body of Christ at
St. Paul’s Parish. Join us for worship
and meet us for yourself.
Holy Eucharist is
celebrated at 5 p.m. on Saturdays,
and 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Sundays.
